This is why new lifters can't build muscle

I saw this video and I as just laughing . I don't understand why people do not understand that doing heavy compounds is the best way to build your base . Your muscular structure . In the video you will hear about people condemning dead lifts bc of the images shown. Just do curls ... imo bicep curls don't make anything grow at all. People as me all the time about my arms and I tell them it's bc of the heavy big lifts.

If you train at least 4 days 3 of them atleast all using your arms for upper body splits . Or depending on your program or split . Point is that you use your arms for a lot more then legs . So I never really focused on doing arms alone . Next point being that when you do legs they must be OBLITERATED! Why? Bc the legs are strong af and mostly only get trained once a week. Your legs been carrying around your body weight your entire life . They are built to be super strong even in people who don't lift . They can hold your body weight up for hours and hours . Now hold your arms out and see how long you last . They will fatigue real quick . Just to use that as an example of why legs always need to be punished among plenty of other reasons.

Great post bro. I haven't seen the video above but look at that posture!. Of course he is going to fuck his back up.

I probably work my arms out once a month and have good size pipes. Nothing to shout from the mountain tops about but 18in aint bad. I try and do legs twice a week and the rest of my body has grown substantially since I implemented that mindset. Size has increased all around as well as strength.

People read or see something and instantly just believe it. I still do deadlifts. And not all the time but every now and then I'll get someone coming up to me {all 140lbs of them) and saying. "those ain't good for you bro" "try this instead". U gotta lift to grow and it ain't gonna happen with small ass weight

Once.a.month?

I train everything once a week, and if I notice lagging I'll train that area twice a week. Alot of people will be different due to genetics tho

Im not saying always lift heavy 24/7 but if you don't genetically have a foundation and structure when you start lifting you will never build it without the big movements hard and heavy .
And as far as training arms I barley ever do it . I throw them in here and there just to prevent injury and get a pump. I put extra effort into lagging body parts like rear delts . Everyone usually needs more focus there amd my upper chest. The

Lighter weights = faster reps. Faster reps = increased heart rate. Increased heart rate = cardio. I do light weight for cardio

You do realize you can get a cardio benefit from heavier lifting as well. I do zero actual "cardio" and am sitting on 11-12% bf. If I did cardio 3x week I'd be on a ten easily. Lifting heavy with minimal rest periods can provide cardiovascular benefit as well so let's not presume that light weight and faster reps is the ticket. I can appreciate all types of lifting methods, but one is no better than the other unless it is focused towards a specific goal. Cardio increases cardio. Lifting light and fast has it's own benefits, but definitely is not something to promote sizeable hypertrophy. From my experience in gyms I frequent a lot of guys use that as an excuse. Increased heart rate/cardio benefit can be achieved numerous ways.

Often times because people don't know HOW to lift properly to maximize strength and growth. I love the mirror muscle crowd... completely fucking lost.

I think people complicate lifting to much . Get in the gym and fuck shit up lol . Honestly you shouldn't be resting much no matter what your goals are bc your not there to rest . I'm always doing drop sets super sets ect . There's no reason why you can't smash weights in an hour and get it in right unlesss yoir taking longer rests imo

Light weight lifting= excuse for being a vagina with nostrils.

Hahahaha that's a little extreme. That would be like someone saying lifting heavy weights is for ego lifting oversized fat insecure mother fuckers as every one will be different with this having different methods. I feel people should do it all, both methods are beneficial

I train my arms twice a week.I do chest/Bi's,Back/Tri's then a couple days later blast Bi's/Tri's/forearms.I just love fuckin working them. They respond so well too.

I still do basic compound movements (minus squats cause of my damn knees make up for it by doing 500 reps of extensions) deadlifts, overhead press, romanian deads, clean, etc. All the old school BBs were consistent in saying you need these movements to grow & build a better base.I read all the books by Arnold & Franco on the subject as well as a few others I can't remember the names.

When I do lower weights is actually when I tend to do reps slower. Do some heavy ass DLs or squats and your HR skyrockets. I sometimes have to rest on the bar after a hard squat set due to feeling dizzy. Anaerobic, fast heavy bursts, are great for increasing vo2 max.

Exfuckingxactly... when I hear people talk about lighter weight faster reps it gets me looking at them like "hmmm, okay man whatever". I'm just glad people leave me the fuck alone in the gym. I don't mean to sound like a dick, BUT if you're not bigger, or more aesthetic than me why are you talking to me trying to impart wisdom about what you're doing? At least be in the ball park with me before you start spouting off about I'm gonna injure myself. I eyeball the fuck out of physiques and their symmetry. When you have size and symmetry it's a beautiful thing. Just don't be that guy my height weighing 40-50 lighter than me talking behind my back about what you aren't putting to use in the gym.
I love excuses bro, I eat them up and look at you as you try to reason with me and the entire time one word is flashing across my brain... #120's.

You guys watch the Olympia's ? What do they do prior to hitting the stage ? Lift light, why ? Gives striations, a pump definition and feathers...

Lol, damn bro you accessing my webcam??? Lol. Agreed all lifts have a place and the only reason I said that was because so many folks try to make excuses about the weight they use when speaking to me. Heavy is person dependent, what I consider heavy starts at 485 plus. What someone else might consider heavy may be 365 plus. However for the record considering I eat as I please and do no cardio for me to be at 12% is great by my standard.

It's a beautiful thing result wise ain't it? I upped the weight I use and do 250-300 reps now and love it bro.

Hahaha lol ! Love u bro, I was just throwing some insight into the convo u know me I play the devil's advocate whenever I can to stimulate a more intellectual conversation

If u ask what I personally do in the gym, I'm with u guys on the lifting heavy when I can and when I'm a little tired or exhausted I at least keep it in the upper moderate range. Just my personal approach
