Quads will not grow

I put on almost an inch in every muscle group in the past 10 weeks, except my quads.

1/2" on shoulders

3/4" on arms

7/8" on back & chest

3/4" on calves

Nothing at all on quads.I dedicate a whole day to my legs,& twice a week EOW.I do heavy squats, front squats, leg curls, heavy extensions & lunges with dumbells. They're getting more defined & vascular but no size like the other muscle groups.

Any ideas to make these stubborn things grow?

try a different regiment? shoot for volume, deep tissue massage? synthol? the last one was a joke hehe

LOL synthol^

I've been switching it up as much as possible. They're just so damn stubborn.I've always had a hard time growing them.My calves grow just by looking at them though.I know a lot of people have a hard time growing their calves.

Same problem here, kinda. My quads just turn into tree trunks with no round ness. What's your routine looking like?

I mostly use free weights with everything.I'll do leg presses occasionally though.Mostly squats, lunges, extensions & curls.

You ever try to hit like 15 plus reps tomplatz was big one going heavy as possible for 15 to 20 reps I find my hams grow with low reps with complete focus on contraction and my quads like high bar squats high reps with no lock out ......it's the most painful exercise I've ever done

fuk wut u kno

The thing is they've gotten a lot stronger. They just haven't grown like the rest of my muscle groups.Maybe a 1/4" if I'm lucky & that could just be water who knows.

Hmm I always thought higher reps were for cutting & endurance?I'll try anything at this point though.I like that idea of "no lock out".I always lock out on my squats. It's sounds like it would be harder.

No lockout is def harder. As long as you are varying your routine and really taxing those muscles, you probably are just gonna be slow to grow there. We all have these areas, for the most part. Just keep putting in the work.

I like using mostly free weights myself. What squat depth do you reach? I found that doing some squats to just below parallel and some ass to grass was a big help with mine. Also love front squats, but I don't know if that applies here.

I go as far down as I can (ass to grass).Every exercise I do I make sure I get a full stretch & contraction with each movement.I also love front squats & goblet squats.I can't do hack squats too well.It just doesn't feel natural to me,grabbing the bar behind me.

The no lock out just keeps the tension on the quads instead of shifting it to the glutes and spine .... some body parts like hi reps some don't I think quads are one that likes to be destroyed with big sets

Good deal, and yeah, pretty good video.

Try it with DB'S first and once you feel stable consider moving to a barbell for resistance.

Will do,thanks

Do you think I can make them grow more with higher reps on leg extensions?I really love that movement. It's the one that really gets my veins popping.

You know what they say ... somewhere around 10 or 12 reps for hypertrophy, however I do believe varying routine and going high sometimes is a good idea. Just wouldn't do it all the time.

Yeah I usually try & push out 15 or 16 on the last rep.

fortunately for me i'm gifted in genetic when it comes to legs. i do squats, leg curls, leg extensions, lunges and leg press. My rep range is usually 15-20 slow reps i make sure every rep my legs are getting contracted. what happens is my legs get leaner and they get stronger. Are your quads getting stronger?
