Funny how guys with torn rotator cuffs, elbow pain, fucked up pecs, will still smash chest days 2x a week. But a little knee or back pain and they throw squats out of the window. Proper squat motion is actualy HEALTHY for the body because it keeps it aligned and stablizes your core.

Squats and dead lifts are also exercises that are much more prone to injury than most,
 
I don't know a lot of guys over 50 who still squat and do dead lIfts. It's a back thing. My quads have always been huge and I've not squatted heavy in a long time.juse need to preserve my back lol

I'll be 46 next month and I still do squats but I don't go over 225. I'm happy with that and I always feel like I've accomplished something on leg day. I don't do deads any more but I have been thinking about doing them again with the same rule of thumb... Keep it 225 and under so I don't blow anything. I had hernia surgery a few years ago and I have to be conscious of it.

Same thing I'm on the two plate rule. I frigging know I can push 450 to 500 plus on the bench but my old ass shoulders and elbows do not like that lol. I keep light and intense. Not sure any of the younger bros can even get close . And lately I'm ripped so that taKen 20 years off me . I'm sure it's about the intensity and not the number if plates at my age

Ha ha... Same here with bench... 2 plates only... 225 is just a good looking number. My right rotator cuff gives me problems.
