Wrist Problem

Hey there new to the forum. I'm 45 and have modest goals. I just try to stay in shape and have what i would call a beach body. About the only juice I take is from my Walmart juicer. Anyway about a month ago I did try to add some size. I switched to a 5X5 lifting program. It was snap city on that. Both my wrists hurt like hell. I have been lifting since 1986 and have never had any problems with my wrists. But very early into the 5X5 I noticed on my right wrist palm side I now have a hard knot on it. This bump will not go away. Ganglion cyst maybe? Anybody else have this happen to them. I'm thinking about hitting it with a thick book to see if i can mash it down before I go see the doctor. :-)

As we age, and get over 40 you have to be careful with the heavy training programs like 5x5 and others. Your body can really take a toll from those types of training. Trust me I know, I'm 42 myself. Just take it a bit easy for a while and give your body the rest it needs. Possibly entertain the idea of going to a different training style. Maybe higher volume training with lighter weights is the answer for you. If you want to go heavier,at least give yourself more time for recovery. How often are you doing 5x5? You shouldn't be training on that more than like 3 days per week

I'm doing the 5x5, but no deadlifts, and limit squats to 250ps (3x8).

I tried the gvt, but found I lost strength. But also, only do squats twice a week, 3 times wrecks my back.
