What are the pharmaceutical name of novladex and clomid and what are they usually prescribed for ?

Nolvas name is Tamoxifen Citrate and was developed to treat breast cancer in women

Clomids name is Clomiphene Citrate and was created as a fertility drug for women

Obviously they serve very different purposes in the bodybuilding world

Clomid is clomifene, used to help women get pregnant. Soemtimes they do not get the lower estrogen feedback needed to ovulate. So it is an antiestrogen. Off label use in men is that it is an anti estrogen and it stimulates the leydig cells in the testicles to produce testosterone. Some men use only clomid as TRT

Nolvadex is tamoxifen and is used on women with breast cancer and it helps to prevent certain types of breast cancer especiailly those cancers that feed off of breast tissue estrogen. It blocks specific site estrogen, and hormone responsive breast cancer that is in the breast tissue. This type of breast cancer is estrogen related. In men it is an anti estrogen, and also stimulates leutinizing hormone which is needed for test production. Nolvadex is also very effective in preveningt gyno in men since it blocks breat site estrogen

There was a guy at work a while back talking about how him and his wife were trying to have kids, and it being relatively unsuccessful. He said that they were looking into fertility drugs and ,mentioned possibly getting Clomid from their doctor. I said "I have plenty. Do you need some?" And he just replied "Why the fuck do you have it?" LOL :lol:
