Chicken

Is it better to cook all your chicken at once and then refrigerate it or keep it raw and cook it before meals? which one will last longer? What are some good ways to make chicken? I have used a foreman grill before but that gets old real fast. I never tried baking it in a toaster oven, would that be a good thing to try?

I personally cook up bulk amounts of chicken all at once, up to 10lbs of breasts when I cook them. That's usually 3-4 days worth of chicken and store them in ready to go Tupperware containers with my rice and greens.

For preparation I always either grill them or bake them in the oven

Ya i prep all my meals on the weekend for the week. You can bbq the chicken just dont use bbq sauce use low calorie low sodium seasonings. Like they have one called beer can chicken. And its literally like 4 calories w almost no sodium. And tastes amazing

Bumping a month old thread, but I just cooked chicken today. I normally prep in bulk for the week by throwing my chicken breast in the crock pot with a bit of water, garlic, low sodium soy sauce, italian seasoning, and worcestershire sauce. I slow cook those bad boys for about 6 hours, drain them and then weigh it out in 6oz portions. I freeze these and pull them when I prep my meals for the next day :). I don't like my food sitting in the fridge since I have a sensitive stomach. I'd rather not have a bunch of extra bacteria in there haha.

Depends on my schedule. I prefer to cook it fresh if possible before each meal or only for that day but if I have to prepack meals for whatever reason I'll cook in bulk. If you haven't tried baking chicken in the oven, give it a shot. It's more moist if refrigerated and reheated. A crock pot is great too man. Anything to avoid having to eat some reheated dry ass chicken.

I like it fresh off the BBQ, but I don't have time for that everyday so I use the foreman grill a lot. I prefer freshly cooked but can't always do that so I always have some cooked sitting the fridge or freezer.

I personally like it fresh each meal if I can. But my wife Filipino, so she does 99%of the cooking. I just eat what she makes lol

^ Lucky bro, my girl does not cook. But she works at the casino, so she brings home food every night. But nothing beats home cooking, and some PI food is always bomb.

I always cook an entire weeks worth of chicken on Saturdays. I don't have time to cook everyday. I just did this exact same thing for this week for the first time. I have a stovetop smoker that's basically a very large crock pot that you can put wood chips in and smoke the food also. I put 15# in the smoker and poured a root beer, beer over top of the chicken. I then poured worcheshire sauce and liquid smoke on it. Then I seasoned it with garlic, ginger and black pepper. I used hickory wood chips and cooked it for 6 hours. I then chopped it up into 12ozs portions and zip lock bagged them. I think it's the best chicken I've ever had.
