Needle size question for delt

I am on TRT, and I cycle steroids. I unfortunately, have a phobia of needles. It is the most stressful and anxious time of my life sticking myself in the upper glute with a 25x1" needle, and I've really come to the fact I can not do it anymore. I saw a doctor on YouTube do it in his delt with a 28x1/2", I've used 25x5/8" in my shoulder after reading that was an appropriate size for the delt, and that was still pretty tough. I bought 27x1/2" needles from GPZ, and it is much much easier. I just did my second injection with it, and surprisingly the post injection pain is much less as well. This makes me a little curious and nervous as if I may not be getting deep enough? I pin where I have the least amount of fat, which is towards the rear delt. I am 6'2 220 and 10% bodyfat. Am I making a mistake, or is this ok? Thoughts appreciated from anyone with a lot of experience. Thanks

I would generally say you need at least a 5/8". 1/2" is a little short, but if your oil volume is low enough it may be ok. How much are you injecting?

I use 25g 5/8in for my delts and quads, 25g 1in for my glutes. I rotate sites and never hit a site more than once a week.
