Just totally screwed myself. I have a 2016 gsx-r 750 love the bike my son bust bought a Kawasaki ninja 1000 and I got on it very hard and needless to say I lost control and been in hospital for 4 days now with fractured eye socket broke 2 vertebrates in my back and broke in half every tendon and ligament in my left knee. Going in surgery in morning to have X brace screwed to my shin and femur to keep knee non socket until I I can to a specialist to reconstruct my knee. Was in middle of cycle and Doctor is saying 6 months off for sure.

Man I feel for ya....get positive, you will get through it....

I have an 06 gixxer 750 and love my bike. Sry to hear about this. How did you lose control? Did you low side? High side?
Were you wearing a helmet?
I dont go out on the streets without full racing leathers , boots and gloves. Ive learned the hardway a while back.
Glad you are alive. Those 1000cc bikes have a nasty bite

My son had just got it to my drive way and I asked him if I could ride it I wasn't wearing helmet cause I was going far I just took it up the block and wanted to see what it could do cause my 750 is a beast and I opened it up full throttle and got it to 136 in about a block and I turned around to go back home and do same thing again and when I got to my road I started to slow down to make turn and brakes locked up on me I tried to feather breaks and needless to say as I started to slide and I thought I could recover it and next thing I know I'm in hospital

Holy shit Vlad! Sorry bro. Please keep us updated.
The gsx-r 750 is my dream bike. I haven't ridden in several years though. Had some issues with my old bike and due to lack of funds and knowledge I sold it. Fiancé is fighting me to never get another one. I live in a small FL town. Lots of ways to travel without getting into the big cities much. P

and back protector...

When I raced, it was racing gear top to bottom. Vanson Leathers, Knox BP, Held racing gloves, Alpinstaar armored boots, etc.

I took a bad high side once and was laid up for 2 months.

For my street riding, its all the same gear, excepting a full hard armored Aerostitch, since its for commuting. Thats my one and only compromise for street riding.

Ive been in 2 bike accidents, 1 totaled have had surgery but now have major back issues for life. Its a terrible way of life to have to get used to, i am always in pain some days worse than others

136 just going down the street from your house? Tough situation here but come on man thats stupid as fuck. Forget about working out or gear and all that and just listen to your doctor. Ive had many surgeries and trust me if you try to short cut the recovery process you will lose

Yeah I know I love the speed. But regretting it now the weight of that bike compared to mine was a stupid move on my part to do what I did never being on it before.

You have to be fucking careful on those man. I had a yamaha back about 10 years ago, and I'm lucky as fuck to be alive for some of the dumb shit I did on it. I have friends that were not so lucky and I saw them die right in front of me.....no joke. After I saw the 3rd one die, I said that's it. I'm done! Its fun to ride, but it's just not worth it. Even if you ride safe, you never know about the others on the road. One of the friends I had was hit by a car coming off of a side street that ran a red light. I have entirely too much to live for now, so I don't see myself getting back on another one again. The risk just isn't worth it

I hope you a speedy recovery my friend. Just take it easy on the speed PLEASE!

A cousin of my died last month, he was an adrenaline junkie, he was riding his bike on the highway, car cut in front, hit breaks (it was an old lady) he didn't break in time, hit the car his body flew, he was headed northbound & his body landed all the way on southbound. He had a wife, baby daughter & a loving family.. It's no joke, Wish u a speedy recovery bro, riding bike is fun but you're risking you're life.
