So im deadlifting last week when i heard it crack and pop , thought it was a bone it was so loud. 12th rep of 315# last fn rep. Anyway tendon isnt all way torn , mri tmrw. My question is has anyone experienced a partial torn bicep in lower bicep and not gottin surgery? If so how did it turn out. He told me recovery was 3-4 months and reccommends no surgery. Says itll be smaller maybe look lil different but should be ok. Does this sound right?

Not sure on the bicep but tore a quadricep tendon a year or so ago squatting. ..they wanted to do surgery but I avoid any surgeries like the plague...it healed perfectly. ..squatting more than ever....doubt it will help you decide because it wasn't a bicep but that was my experience for what it is worth

Every 2 cents is worth it to me. Is the muscle shape any different? Cause my bicep has big divit on the inside where the tendon tore. I g

Yeah...see there in lies the problem...I am a powerlifter and don't really care about how the muscle looks and I know it is very important to BBs for obvious reasons....The muscle shape is different. ..not pronounced to me but I won't win any symmetry contests...that is for sure

If it was a torn bicep u would know. You probly have patrially torn you biceps tendon. Which is basically useless. Your bicep will look a bit different but not by much. The tendon basically tears and heals in a diff spot. Thats what will make it look diff. Do you have swelling and bruising at the bicep or by ur elbow?

Yep just as you described. So other than looks itll be fine? Dr said it would always be smaller and weaker , thats why i came here i knew someone experienced this. Lol. Also he never said tendon would heal in different spot. Ill post a pic also when swelling goes down to show the muscle.

Im not bb either. But this thing looks hideous. Lmao i train for strength , i get such an adrenaline rush off lifting heavy shit. Lol. I do bb style of training also. But my big lifts are my favorite and get the most attention

you tell your doc to shut his fucking commie mouth it will be bigger than the other one and you can test it around his damn neck!!!!

It depends if it is full torn or partially torn. If partial tear it shid be fine when healed if full tear it will remain detached and look pretty diff. Tereally depends how bad. But it wont be weaker but it will be more sore. And probly will need to loft w a sleeve on

How much tendon can you tear partially and still have faith in whats left ? Im thinkin it tore at a managable weight with full tendon can whats left ever even hold that type of weightload again ? Im gonna have to research. Lol.

I wouldnt even worry in the last 15 yrs they have figure out the biceps tendon virtually does nothing. Your bicep does it all. And elbow movement is controlled by your ucl ligament. Bicep tendon means nada just hurts like a mother fucker. It will heal and u will be strong. Make sure u have someone start using a rolling pin on your bicep. Its gonna hurt really bad but it will get blood flow there to speed healing. Also ice that bitch alot to get swelling down. Swelling slows recovery. Bite a towel and get that rolling pin on it. Believe me it works

Basically what happened is that your bicep tendon is conmected to the bicep muscle. It basically pulled away from it. So it will fill in and grow new tissue and scar tissue etc.

What u have done is very common. Pushing yourself too hard. And now your body let you know. This is a lesson for everyone. Even though we are on aas products doesnt make us invincable. Proper rest and recovery is needed and not over doing it. Case and point i would say its not a good idea going for so many reps with dead lift. And this is why. You definatly need to be more careful from now on.

What type of grip were you using doing deads? I know Bickel tears are common on those that do over under grips on the side with the underhand grip. I've known many Ike's that has happened. I know it can happen with conventional dual overhand grip too, but thought I'd ask

Excactly over /under grip. Undergrip tearing

There in lies the problem. At the end of the set when u were trying to get a couple reps your back peobly began to fatigue and so you tried activating a little bit of arms to get it up and the tensile strength of your tendon gave out. This is why you dont go too far. If lets say u are on rep 9 and start to feel that burn thats ur body saying stop. Listen to it. Put the bar down. Take a 30 sec rest then go again. You still get your reps in but prevent damage.
