The sense of entitlement, laziness and the absurd sesnsitivity amongst us...

Its this new generation. They have been babied and sheltered so much that they have no skills in problem solving and adversity. Everyone is so afraid of offending anyone else and destroying someones psyche that they bend over backwards accomodating them. The way kids talk to their parents and elders now is mindblowing. If i even thought of saying some of these things they say i wouldnt have been able to sit down for a week. Yea it woulda hirt but you better believe i behaved. I could go on and on but theres not enough space to rant in this thread lmao

you are exactly right... if anyone even started to speak to me that way, it would be the first and last.. parents dont have any control and basically let the kids control everything.. ive seen so many kids in real estate basically making the decisions on where they move etc... its fucking crazy... the shit i see now is unreal... the parents should take a lot of blame though... they empower the kids and the kids take advantage of it... i could never imagine doing any of that shit... i am in the same boat with you... if i spoke to my dad like i see kids do or did to my mom and my dad got wind of it, fuck, i would be just like you bro... no sitting for a week... i knew better though.. its just very scary to see... that's why when i see younger generations with respect and with high maturity, i immediately gravitate to them to keep that instilled within them and do whatever i can to help...

When my kids were younger my eldest (my daughter) came home on day from high school and said 'My teacher said parents can't hit their kids, or talk to us any kind of way. I don't think you should talk to me any kind of way. I can tell my teacher and they'll come arrest you.'. I loved that one, I reminded her there were no cops or teachers here at the moment and handed her the phone. I told her to dial them up, because if she did I'd gladly go to jail behind beating her ass until they finally arrived, then I'd have her mother put her in foster care with some perv who would wanna finger bang her just so she could have lunch money or worse. She handed me the phone back. My son never gave me such problems as he knew any wrong move would subject him to fatherly assault. Fear is just as important as respect when raising kids, they don't need to fear you, but they need to fear the consequences of misconduct and acting like we didn't give them the best we had to offer while raising them.

exactly... it all goes back to this... what are you going to do in the real world when it gets cut throat... you going to call and "tell" on someone ?? fuck no, but you will sit there and get your ass abused and taken advantage of and then realize there is nothing you can do because noone gives a fuck... the problem is, noone is taught what the real world is like... for instance, why are they teaching kids in high school about all this bull shit instead of preparing you for what is to come... why is there not a class on credit for example? that is one of the most important aspects of life and the REASON there is so much debt, crime, etc. is because people don't know any better when they are too young, get buried before they even begin and find they cannot get out of the hole so then they turn to crime, etc... this is just one example... noone is taught the consequences, what is actually out there etc... all anyone cares about is their "rights" their "freedom of speech" etc.. you know where that shit gets you? FUCKING NOWHERE... im sorry but the way things are trending, its a sad sad situation...

I love this thread...as part of the hated generation (20y/o, 21 in a week and couple days), most of my generation are so entitled. The generation ahead of me is even worse lol. ...I hear kids taking to their parents in a way that makes me cringe. I am saddened by the youth these days. I am so grateful to have been raised to be respectful, hard worming, and strong. At age 13 I was earning money doing concrete work, fucking 13, moving half ton wheelbarrow's of wet cement, I can't imagine any 13yo in America today doing that. There are far and few youths these days being raised with the type of mindset that's not toxic..I'm so glad I'm one of the few who know I have to work hard for what I want. Reason being why I'm only 20 and have been in management at construction companies, coca-cola, and now GNC...work hard and don't expect anything and only then will you get what you deserve.

I'm so glad you posted this shit.. Lol, "I've trained for ONE whole year". You take short cuts and you always step in dogg shit... every time.

Two of my daughters are college graduates now. Very good, they have a degree. My oldest who is 24 is now finally starting to get it. She has a great job with GM Marketing (my wife got her in) and she is really getting after it. Hustling and starting to figure things out. Meanwhile, her college roommates are still struggling and "can't afford" to live on their own yet. These kids are graduating from college which is great, but not realizing that still doesn't mean shit if you can't get out there and hustle. My wife and I pound this message into our girls really hard.......slowly but surely they are starting to get it. A lot of work and counseling and coaching man. Dylan, this is an awesome thread, thanks for posting.

Couldn't help but laugh... blame the brain, not the man.

thats another problem... all of these kids depend on mom and dad to pay for them to live.. for their apartments, their bills, their cars... when i was in high school, i paid off TWO, yes TWO fucking cars on my own... NO HELP, not a stitch... well not with payments... i got excellent deals because of my uncle but the fact remains, i still had to pay thousands on my own, while IN high school and also playing FOUR SPORTS yet my dad still made me work.. fuck man, my first job was at fucking mcdonalds okay... i had no choice, i was only 14.. actually, i worked at 11 years old as a golf caddy at the country club for one of my middle school teachers too... point being, if kids were taught at a younger age and not just given whatever they want, then you would learn to value everything you have... it was hard as fuck back then to make money.. minimum wage was like 5.25 or something ridiculous... you did a great job with your daughter, clearly and that's just awesome.. it takes parents like you to instill this into kids... these kids are very very fucking smart yet they never get to their potential because of upbringing... honestly, the younger generations have so much skill and ability, its crazy but they do not know how to use and utilize it...

thats just awesome bro... seriously... you were raised right and look at what you are doing... i love that... i love seeing parents teach their kids well and the kids responding.. your generation is FAR from hated, trust me... its more so frustrated than anything... the skill and the ability is there beyond belief but the mentality is so far gone, its sad...

Well said.....welcome to the entitlement generation. This all began when they started handing out trophies to everyone. If your first place, you get a trophy. If your 30th place, you get a trophy. When I was young, if I didn't get first place all I got was a good ass chewing about how I needed to try harder.
Exactly.
