43 year old male been working out consistently for 4 years now. Just got out of my Drs office and results show my test numbers at 292. He.put me on 100mg every 14 days. Is this going to help or is it not enough to bring my numbers to 500 which is where I want to be.

Thanks

Typical TRT doses are between 100mg-150mg per week - sometimes 200mg on the high side. Blood work will dictate what dose is needed to put you in range. Weekly injections will keep your levels more stable as opposed to bi-weekly injections. In my opinion, 100mg every two weeks is just enough to shut you down and leave you feeling like crap. You will probably feel better the first week following injection, then feel a drop the second week. Typically, doctors will aim to put you in the 700-900 level range. Why are you only looking to have your numbers around 500?

there is one school of thought among endo's that the younger you are (thus the longer number of years you will be on TRT) you are better off being in the 500-600ng range
remember the median average testosterone level for a healthy male is 560ng/dL
So many ppl get caught up in the reference range which shows 1000-1100ng at the high end...Less than 5% of men have natural testosterone at this level...IT IS NOT THE NORM

HOWEVER...all of the endo's I know that subscribe to this ..put their patients on WEEKLY doses ranging from 50 to 75mg

Bi-weekly dosing is rooted in the belief most men don't want to pin...so they prescribe dosing every 2 weeks even though MOST men will experience unstable blood serum levels (roller coasting)
I've never heard of an endo telling his patient he can't split his bi-weekly dose in 2 and pin that half dose every week

Your doctor will have to base things off of bloodwork to see where that puts you. The dose every 14 days is a big problem and too unstable. You need weekly injections. I personally think 100mg every two weeks (50mg per week) is going to end up too low too, but you'll have to go on what the bloodwork says

500 is not a very good target. 14 days between injections is too infrequent. 50mg/wk is very unlikely to help you, doctors typically start at 100mg/wk and assess bloods from there. It's pretty rare to see a dose below 100mg/wk but it does happen.
Thank you

In agreement with these guys. I don't think you'll be feeling too hot with that extended period in between pins. Once a week is better for stability. 50mg a week however, may come up lower than I would personally like but you'll have to work with your doc through bloodwork to dial everything in.

Wow! This is great information! Thanks everyone, I am learning so much from being apart of this community!

Is there a recommended place I should get my blood work done, and what panel(s)/tests should I do to track how my cycles are changing my different hormone levels?
