What is everyone's thoughts on planned deloads to allow you to progress further and allow for better recovery

Never thought about this for someone either on a blast or cruise..would it be ideal to take a deload during a blast or a cruise( or at what point during them)

Whats everyone's opinion on the scheduling and timing of deloads

I think they can very beneficial, especially if you're a heavy lifter that taxes the CNS a lot. I didn't deload before my last cycle and wondered this as well mid cycle, but I ended up waiting until a couple weeks after my cycle was over to deload. I didn't want to deload immediately after coming off for fear of losing gains while hormones were returning to normal.

I typically do a light week for deloading, which can mean lifting at about 60% same reps or just simply lighter on compounds that week, rather than completely off. Having a week completely off does give people some added drive when they get back to it though.
I normally do the same thing with reducing the weights...I'll prolly wait till like 4-5 weeks into my cruise to deload

I deloaded once on my current cycle and I may actually end up doing it again this week. My definition of deload may not be the same as others. For me, its 10+ reps of everything that I do for a week. My first deload happened because I felt like I was progressing in my compound movements so fast that I wanted to give my tendons etc a week to catch up....I was really concerned with tearing a muscle at that point. This second deload is more because of the way my current workout schedule is looking for this week. I'd think that any shoulder pain etc would be a cue that you may want to deload as well. I'd say schedule one in your blast and see if it makes any difference. I don't regret my first deload at all.

I am a firm believer in deloads, and incorporate them regularly. Though generally I just take a full 7 days off of the gym when I do every 3 months or so.

I can tell when my body needs it, and when I come back it the gains take off even better for size and strength.

I believe everyone should be implementing this or a Deload as necessary
