Decline presses & flys

Lol, 220 with a deep stretch is still pretty good bro even for The 44.

We have one like that with no pedals. And adjustable handles. And i use it. But differently.

I dont use the handles but bring my grip higher on the connecting bars and do more of a pec deck w that set on 220 which is the highest for ours too. And do about 5 sets of 12-15. Usually at the end of the workout. Great for buikding chest mass

Agreed, full rom and tut is essential for growth. These machines are meant to be used as we please so lil tweaks are a great way to get the most outta them.

Decline presses & flys

Lol... as much as I am 100% straight male USA bred, I find that soccer moms tend to be the more readily accessible and versatile choice of equipment for workouts lol.

And now adays they got nice big fake titties thnx to their rich stupid husbands. Lol

Definitely essential, but it seems that it's usually the upper chest that's harder to build for most blokes, hence all the incline work.

Flat and other movements usually hit lower chest anyway, but nothing like a good decline to really pump it up.

I thought I was unique being a dumbell kinda guy. Seems not though. I almost exclusively use dumbbells. The stabilization necessary adds so much more to the movement IMO. And you can put the weight exactly where you want it.

I only use push barbell machines as a warmup / max weight overall kind of thing. But bulk of all my chest work is dumbs.
You are not alone brother. Sound pretty much like me

I'd like to slip in declined press and flys, but my home gym/bench just isnt laid out for it. I'd have to move the spotting stand to the other end of the bench every time.

I've scoured through most of the chest workouts on here & have yet to see anyone mention decline presses &/or flys.I see a lot of flat & incline presses though.
I've always incorporated then into my chest routine.I do decline, incline & flat presses.I also do decline incline & flat flys.I'll usually end with high rep low weight pullovers for a great ending chest pump.I credit this for my chest being one of my best developed muscle groups.

What are your thoughts on this & if you don't think they're are necessary why is that?

decline presses are good. i do them sometimes. Dips are a decline motion. I usually do dips instead of a decline press. Decline Flys are one of my favorite for chest stretch and squeeze actually. Flys are absolutely necessary for chest stretch and full pump. i like to use them as a finisher. But i also prefer very heavy flys. not a fan of light weight flys. sometimes i do light weight flys for high reps, but i prefer heavy weight for 8-12. same with pullovers. heavy pullovers, like 120lb dumbell for 8-12 reps. this really helped me get my chest development up. i do 120lb pullovers at the very end of the chest workout. in my opinion a good chest workout is Incline bench, Dips, Flys, and Pullovers. only sometimes i hit flat bench or close grip when i want to go real heavy.

also another exercise that is good is guillotine press. but it is very dangerous and hard on shoulders. but if you can do it safely you can get a sick stretch and squeeze on your chest.

I love weighted dips, decline press haven't touched in over a decade.

yeah dips are awesome. heavy dips will destroy you. i actually black out a little when i go super heavy weighted dips lol...its the same movement as a decline just different body position. i rarely ever do decline press. but i do like some dumbell decline press with a twist. i get a Fat pump

I'm strong AF on decline, but I always hit the back of my head on the bar so 44 stays off the decline now.
That shit is annoying asf and gets old fast lol. That's the original reason I switched to using dumbbells and not the bar cause you look and feel stupid getting hit in the head or pulling off a weird looking modified sit-up just to get off the bench.

Lol, nice to know I wasn't alone on that one.

Great replies guys.I forgot about the good old dips. They're a great alternative to decline presses.

I use kettle bells doing decline pullovers and finish with decline presses . I find it easier to manage the weight when starting and finishing
