I want to know what you guys think lf in home scales measuring BF% and how accurate you think they are.

My wife has a fitbit scale just to keep track of her progress. I use it every now and then just to check my BF% as i belived it was roughly acurate not spot on but maybe 1% leeway bothways.

I started a recomp stack 2 weeks ago hoping to gain a little and lose a little. Not a lot mostly stay the same and harden up. Before the cycle scales said I was 12.6-13.4. After I started it slowly went down by about 0.1% per day for a week and i finally hit the 11.9% mark. Then all of a sudden everyday it went up by .5%. Today it said I was 16.4 yesterday was 15.9.

This concerned me as I feel as if my progress has been clean, good diet no bad days yet its making me feel like I fucked up.

Can anyone give me some insight as to what they think about these scales? Im starting to believe they are just guessing. I also find it hard to believe I could gain that much BF in a week as i usually struggle to gain any weight at all. I have gained maybe 2lbs since starting the cycle

bro, do yourself a HUGE MENTAL FAVOR here and get rid of that piece of shit... all that is going to do is fuck you up psychologically into thinking something is wrong or off that is not.. those things flat ass suck... get rid of it bro

Well according to my home scale I am 30% bodyfat with visible abs... so I hope that answers your question as to how accurate they are lol.

Yea I knew they werent right but damn why make something thats just going to mess with people. I would get a body scan but the closest one is an hour away. Doesn't seem worth it.

Money bro. Thats why they make them. They prey on people to spend that cash... and people do buy them. Same way supplement companies make supps with bogus claims to prey on the unknowledgeable. These guys are right though. Those so called scales that measure bf% are very inaccurate. Don't waste your time or money on them.

they are pretty much the worst way to even consider measuring body fat.. i dont know what it is they measure but its definitely not body fat.. i would stay far away from that... it will only cause you confusion and mental strain...

Thise scales are horseshit. Its electrostatic. In other words they send a tiny undetecable amount of electricity thru ur feet and waits for it to come back to the machine. As the himan body is a conduit of energy. Basically its a trick. The more hrydrated you are the less resistence to the charge hence lower body fat.

So you can trick the machine. Not drink much water and it will show high bf. Of you drink a bunch of water that day at night it will show a low bf. Its a joke. Its for sally wedding goer looking to lose 5# to fit in her brides maid dress. Nothing more

My Omron scale measures through feet and hands. While its numbers may not be accurate, its fairly accurate using relative numbers as far as fat going up or down if you average out the fliers.

The best thing to go by is the mirror. It doesn't lie. Take progress pictures and do comparisons. That is your best and most effective tool

yes, the mirror doesnt lie, nor does waist sizes, etc... body fat testing mechanisms are so flawed... its ridiculous...
