The Importance of Stretching: A new video by Dylan Gemelli

Definitely a must imho. I used to never stretch, now it's a mainstay and has helped me reduce injury, soreness and speed up recovery. I can now pin my own glutes and delts (delts I need a wall to assist in the stretch/reach, but I pin them dammit!) and what I once thought was silly has helped out so much I even incorporate it in my final few sets to increase ROM during lifts.

Good vid! And yes, I used to skip stretching entirely until I developed so much tightness and pain in my lats and shoulders that I had to incorporate it along with some light foam rolling. I'm fairly young so it's not like it's an "old guy" thing either. lol I kick myself in the ass for not doing proper stretching protocols from the beginning. A lesson lived is a lesson learned....

"I don't believe in it. You ever see a lion limber up before taking down a gazelle?" LOL

In all seriousness stretching is extremely important for so many reasons. Great video Dylan.

thanks guys... i am pretty sure most of us are or have been guilty of this at one point or another so i felt like it was an extremely important topic to cover...

I'm a firm believer in stretching after exercise. It's actually a big part of my training with "extreme stretches" that take stretching to a whole new level.

I don't stretch before exercise for a few reasons but I do several warmup sets

If you don't implement stretches correctly in your training, you drastically increase your chances of injury

yeah bro stretching is super important.

like most people, I didn't stretch when I was younger. it just wasn't taught to me. I just went and lifted weights. now I am 80 lbs heavier and wished I had stretched the whole time growing up.

muscle tightness is the number one cause of Back Pain. hamstrings glutes and hips can all tighten up like piano wire and pull on your lower back, causing extreme pain. it feels like an injury but it really is just tightness.

i really want to make sure everyone is seeing this... the importance of stretching is vital to you being able to workout properly every day and to prevent stupid injury occurrence which clearly is a set back... many are easily avoidable by taking the proper steps to protect yourself...
