Hey guys some of u might know from my previous posts that I will be competing masters nationals in 2017. That's our goal at this point. Already qualified last year and I will have to requalify later in this year. Planning on doing a show in October in my home town. It should not be a problem at least I hope it won't. Taking this year and working on putting size on. I feel like a douch asking this question but here it is. Any ideas how I can land some sponsors??? I'm really very hard working dude and I will def promote whoever is willing to sponsor me. I would be a great athlete for the company. Maybe even a wife and a husband combo. As u all know shit gets expensive and any kind of help would go a long way. So shoot ur ideas I'm willing to work hard for it and love to hear ur suggestions how to go about it. Thanks dudes

What you need to ask yourself is: for what reason are you a good investment to sponsor? 'Cause it's not a charity, sponsors only help out if they get something back.
Most of the times, this needs you to have a big following on social medias. Pretty much end of story.
Sorry if I sound cynical, but telling a sponsor ''I plan on doing this and that'' is a no go. Trust me on this, I work in the supplement industry.
Sponsors are not after you. They are after your followers on social medias. Those are the people that brings in the money by buying supplements or clothes :)

Good luck brother!

Problem with people who look for sponsors comes down to the mentality and the outlook.

So if I was the company, what can you do for me that improves my business?
Is it up to me to invest in that or up to you to earn my investment.

I got my two local shops, and a few other things going just because it's about being a salesman. It really is sad to say.

Roids24 for example. It comes down to what I do to expose his brand.
He told me what he needed. I told him what I can bring. Even if I'm not Mr olympia, it's about how to market

Your best approach is not necessarily with new companies either because they will be the most desperate for sales. They will push you into the realm of what you don't enjoy probably. Look for something you enjoy man. Get to know local influence and go from there. Gotta be social and gotta find your way in with the community.

Some people it's social media others it's word of mouth and some it's just down right whatever the fuck you can do to generate revenue and prove yourself as profitable. 9 times out of 10 it comes down to being a social media whore.
Personally that's not for me so I loose out on things that are built off that. Just gotta find something that fits the situation.

Getting a sponsorship is not easy, so I wouldn't expect a lot to come from that. Now, on the other hand you may be able to do something like some rep work for a source or something, but that really comes down to what others have said. Being able to offer something to that source as far as bringing in business. That would probably mean having a solid reputation and a lot of followers that you can guide and direct to give advice to. Your best option is to be active here, and in time you just may I,press the right source that you can help represent to offset the cost of gear, etc.

Thank you guys. I know it's all about social media. I do have one thing in works right now with the local supplement shop and all they want is social exposure. I'm willing to give them that no problem. I can post like the rest of them. I guess I need to just go after them even if it takes writing letters to get my name out there I guess

It's just not like it n used to be. Now days they would sponsor a shitty athelete with social presence over a good athelete with out. Just look at kai green and his new line.

In the end it's all about how much money you can bring to a company. They don't care about who YOU are, they care about what you can do for their business

A buddy of mine just landed a sponsorship with centurion. They approached him. He posts multiple shots and videos a day. One thing I never used or understood was hashtags... basically if yoh use 100 different hashtags, youll get more views, likes, and follows
