First cycle diet advice

Ok guys need a little input here. As some of you know I am cutting and have been for awhile. I just started my test e last night and I started tbol last week. My question is, should I remain in a deficit and continue doing cardio and cut on this cycle or is that a waste. My goals for the most part are to get shredded but at the same time I can't help but think I'm wasting my first cycle by not reaping the size and strength gains by remaining in a deficit.

I've also thought about upping my calories to maintenance levels, adding a 6th day of lifting, dropping back the cardio to 3 days a week and trying to put on lean mass the first half and then slowly drop calories and add more cardio back in the second half when I add in the winstrol.

Yea, I know I won't lose muscle mass while on but is that a waste for a first cycle or should I try and reap all the size and strength benefits?

Its all based on YOUR goals my man!!! Sounds like to me your looking to do a recomp. For me, I like to cutt while im on cycle because i can go deeper into a deficit with calories. What are you trying to achieve?

My goal is to be shredded but that is a life goal. I just don't want to waste getting any lean mass and strength.

Believe me with the tbol and test you wont have any problem with strength. I if I was you I would cut like no tomorrow. IMHO. Tbol and test are great for lean mass!!

Yea, I guess I'll just stick with my original shred plan. I'm just afraid of missing out on all the fun stuff from this cycle by not eating enough.

When you are on anabolics, one of the great benefits is to be able to add muscle even while dieting down.

Always eat and train for your goal, regardless of being on cycle or not. If it makes you feel any better, I NEVER eat at a continuous surplus on cycle. I always recomp. Dylan actually is always in a deficit. These drugs can help you accomplish things you couldn't otherwise do naturally, so cutting on cycle is definitely not a waste.

Yea, I understand what you mean. I actually wasn't thinking of going into a surplus just maybe being closer to maintenance and reducing cardio for awhile to take more advantage of the strength and mass increases. I think I'll just keep at what I'm going right now and see how that goes.

obviously when your body is in an anabolic it needs more food to grow at extremely high levels however the beauty of this is using this to your advantage in terms of eating at a maintenance... you can absolutely gain size while eating at a maintenance if you accommodate the proper nutrient intake, such as protein etc. for growth while still having the ability to shred...

This right here is a golden rule. To be honest I have seen guys cut up on all kinds of combos. One guy would go 200cyp/200eq and 20mg dbol. He cut calories way back and got ripped. He would get to his weight and then drop dbol and within 2 more weeks he was defined. I swear..what is written here is absolutely true. You really can cut on any aas because they keep you from loosing muscle.

I do believe that and understand that it's all about diet. I'm just afraid to miss out on all the big gains by being in a deficit bit the truth of the matter is, I still have bf to cut.

Sometimes I think after a few cycles guys get bigorexia. They can't get big enough no matter what the mirror says or anybody says. Take this one cycle in your entire life of cycles and use it to cut. I swear I saw a guy cut with dbol. They did give POW's coming out of concentration camps dbol to power them back up. My plan was that I was going to bulk up on 2 cycles. I did the 2 cycles within one year and I put on 13 lbs. It was a pretty solid 13 lbs but my muscles had a thin layer of marshmallow creme over them. Next cycle I cut. I did it with trenA and TrenHex. After that I never cut or bulked ever again. I stayed under 10%BF, and when I would do a cycle I would eat maintainence plus a few extra cans of tuna. When I felt strength come on, then I added weight. What ever gains came ..I accepted. Never again worrying about bulk or cut. It gets distracting.Don't get bigorexia and be scared shitless that you are going to loose some muscle. It really is no big deal bro!

This is great, solid and sound advice, thanks drb. This was my original plan for my cycle but I started reading on the interwebs and kept reading everyone saying not to waste your first cycle by cutting. You know how that is though, you get a headache and Google it and by the time you're done reading you just know you have leukemia. I'll stick to my original plan and get shredded, plus I'm 6'3" 260 pounds, size isn't something I'm exactly hurting for.

Ok so what you learned here is this. You experiment with yourself and find out what is best for you.You do not have to take everything I say or what anybody says. Oh that first cycle, and b4 you know it you are on cycle number 25 and you STILL are not cut. So lets say that you really are going to waste a cycle ..and all of those gains. So what? Maybe you can catch up sometime in the next 10 cycles...right? Get that whole entire bunch of shit out of your head and the sooner the better. Get on a cycle you like and get into major calorie deficit. The aas are going to let you be strong and mighty and you will be slugging heavy iron, with just a few macros. When the cycle is done you will be one ripped mo fo. Now stay there. All of this shit...I am on aas and I need to stuff the pie hole cause I dont want to waste a cycle...its bullshit dude. Get on a cycle...cut NOW..and stay there. This I stand behind 100%.

ibleedoranbla, this was a great question to ask. I have been wondering the same exact thing. My first cycle starts in about a month and I'm going to run basically the same AAS as you are. I've been planning to use a 400 calorie surplus for the first couple months so that I don't "waste my first cycle". LOL So this sounds like a common mindset for us beginners. Like you, I still want to lose BF. I'm currently at 12% and I'm terrified of gaining more fat.

So after reading all of the great feedback here, I think I'm going to eat at maintenance during my cycle instead of a surplus. I might even adopt part of the "RickRock" plan and eat at a deficit on cardio/rest days.

Thanks for starting this discussion. It's super helpful!

Dude you have your macros down pat. You could do the same thing I do..maintain + 2-3 extra cans of tuna. On cardio days you might try 1 tablespoon of mct oil. It is a fat, and filling yet your bod runs it like a carb

This is the first time I've heard of mct oil. I just looked it up. I will get some! Thanks DrB!

I tell you what man, it may not be for everyone but I recomp extremely well by eating at defecit son rest days and doing cardio, while eating at a slight surplus on workout days. I do that all the time year round on cycle and off, and it works great for my body
