Bruised Meniscus

Reoccurring injury just side lined me. My brother had his replaced once and repaired another time. Does anyone else have experience with this and if so what are your recommendations? I don't want to get surgery AT ALL. But I may have too if we find out there is a lot of damage once the swelling and bruising goes down.

Well for one u cant bruise your meni. Its a piece of cartilage. No blood flow. However if your meni has failed you can cause bone on bone contact which would then be a bone bruise. More than likely its failing or is torn. Which woukd require surgery. But its a simple one. But you would be back to normal activity in 30 days

Fucker.... You told me when I had the problem that I just needed to apply a lot of MAN RANCH to it... Now I find that it was a lie? Oh well, I became a very popular girl at the gym. Many men were willing to volunteer. (J/K)

I had a similar problem a month ago. Tape, ice, NSAIDs and proper therapy can help if it's not locking up on you. If it's locking up on you then you have a bucket handle tear and that will require scope surgery. Good luck to you.

They use that term for an actual bone bruise, like when you bruise a rib. It hasn't locked it place like my brothers did when he obliterated it. It had gotten progressively worse over the course of the year. This time I can't even walk. I won't be able to get back to the doc until next week.

I had a torn meniscus hears ago. The repair was basically trimming up the damaged edges. But that is what is causing the swelling. So afterward you will have less cartilage. But it's pretty minor surgery.

depends how bad it is bruised or hurt. i would take it slow or you can tear it completely.Obviously you should seek a drs and follow his advise. That would be the best plan
