When I do blood work should I request free T3, T4 or total T3, T4? Do I even need to check T3? I didn't supplement T4 during my 6 month HGH run and I think I may be hypothyroid. Not in a big way but I think it warrants bloodwork.

I think this explains the cold chills and the hypoglycemic symptoms I have been experiencing.

I doubt it's been impacted a whole lot personally, but if it's something that concerns you or that you may be having symptoms for it can't hurt to check

I'm thinking total is needed but I just want to make sure before I order the test.

Here's what's happening... When I increased HGH from 4ius to 8ius a day I started getting cold chills and I was sleepy and lethargic after meals so I went back to 4ius. I've been off HGH for about 8 weeks and I'm still getting sleepy and lethargic after meals. My fasting BG was 93. About an hour after a meal my BG has been ranging from 77-83. I thought it should be much higher than that. I'm thinking my body is producing too much insulin and this is making me tired. I Googled these symptoms and it led me to Reactive hypoglycemia which is also related to hypothyroidism. The symptoms aren't serious but they can be annoying at times especially when I've never had them before recently. I'm just trying to get it figured out...

I haven't researched this a ton, but I think testing t3 would be a sufficient first step, then possibly TSH depending on the results. IMHO I don't think taking HGH would make you permanently hypo, the thyroid has been shown to be pretty resilient under suppression from the studies I've seen. I think while dosing HGH it can affect thyroid through some insulin resistance; but even at the levels you were taken I kind of doubt it; but then again, maybe it could tip you over the edge if you were already borderline.
I sure hope so... Maybe I'm just getting older... Who knows... I'm planning on getting some extensive blood work soon... I'm over due. It's been about a year.

I just had a wellness checkup so my lipids are pretty good... LDL was 135. Room for improvement but not bad.

Check out how vitamin d levels can effect blood glucose etc.... id also recommend having your vitamin d levels tested as well. IMO
