The Importance of Variety in your Workout Routine: A new video by Dylan Gemelli

Excellent excellent video Dylan! You always have to feed your body new stimulus, and overcome adaptation. That means always finding a way to introduce a new stimulus whether it be adding weight, reps, drop sets, giant sets, or just changing exercise selection, volume , intensity, etc...

thanks guys... i hear from far too many they have reached a "plateau" etc. and many of them are in their early 20's... they have no clue what a plateau is... you don't reach any sort of shit that young... it all comes down to how you implement certain methods into your training... its not just showing up and lifting... that doesn't do a thing if you are not precise in what you do...

Love the video brother, this is something that we seldom think of when we hit ruts, or plateau's. Variety is fundamental in order to stimulate growth. I think everyone is guilty of this time to time and this video is a wonderful reminder to mix it up. Gem listed!

Great vid. I always change up the exercise if I stall on it for example barbell rows ---> tbar rows. It's simple yet an effective approach to overcome plateaus... Either that or get on a cycle lol

i see so many guys saying they reached a "plateau" and all i can think of is that they saw the plateau they teach you about in school, the geographical one... so im picturing someone on a raised highland because 99% of the people that say they reached a lifting plateau wouldn't have the slightest clue of what that actually means... guess what, YOU DONT REACH A FUCKING PLATEAU AT 21 years old or training for one year.. its so absurd to even hear.. did one ever thing that maybe, just maybe, its YOU that is causing this "plateau?" Perhaps it comes down to your training or lack there of? Perhaps there are major flaws such as doing the same things over and over and over again... Thus, the importance of the video..

thanks for the constant support brother!

absolutely right bro... i change up things every week from one day to the next... change the order you do, the type, the weight and volume etc...

If any1 posts how they've "hit a plateau" I'm banning him for life.

Yeah some people lift the same weight, do the same exercises, the exact same things for months and months and wonder why progress stalls. I don't switch up my actual exercises as much as I should, I try to do new things every week or switch an exercise or two for different ones. I do one muscle group per day Monday-Friday. butbi change the tempos of my routine and tweak them a lot. First week of the month I always do overloads, as much weight as I can possibly lift for maybe a 6 rep max, week 2 time under tension, I preform my workouts with moderate weight still usually enough to not surpass 8 reps, but I do them in a very slow controlled motion really emphasizing the top of the rep and slowly releasing the weight to start position. Week 3, I burn out on damn near every exercise I do till I just can't do it anymore, for example on arm day I start out curlin 55s and work my way down to where I can barely do 15s 5 times. Week 4 moderately light weight with very explosive reps and in very high numbers. I usually do about 50-80 T-bar rows per set. I try to switch exercises around and try new things. It can be difficult because a lot of the exercises I don't really do are ones I've given a chance and they didn't work well for me, or I just didn't feel the burn. But there are some I like that I take out and swap for others just for new stimulation. Like I did dumbbell pullovers on back day it actually felt pretty nice, it was an exercise I've neglected for quite some time. I'm still trying to find a decent alternative to deadlifts because my backs been a little strained and deadlifting did not help at all.

I follow francesco castano's routine. I dont have great genetics but his workout plan and theories, It made me gain a shit load of weight. But with my injuries, chronic fatigue, I can't train one muscle group twice a week. Even when done properly, cycled properly, and done correctly, I just can't.
