'Can you get me like you?'...

View attachment 2559

Now we all have heard some ignorant shit in our day, the bigger, or more shredded you are I can only imagine it's worse and worse. A guy asked me 'Can you get me like you?'... well let's see:

1. You're not me so NO.
2. It took me a lot of years to get like this you realize hopefully.
3. Look at you... when is the last time you trained? Look at me, I probably just finished training.
4. As a man, did you really ask me that?
5. Why would I entertain training you? Swapping multiple plates? Holding your hand?
6. Oh so you assume you're just as strong as me... nice. Let me get you under this bar and see.
7. See #2
8. See #3
9. If you haven't done it on your own by now how am I supposed to motivate you especially when it would require more of me than it would of you.
10. Just stop bro.

oh fuck bro... if you knew how many times i get people that say to me... "how can i get cut like you" etc.. or even better... "how can i get like that without doing so much?" aside from finding a zoltar machine or a genie in a lamp, im not sure what to tell you... its so ridiculous... i just reply "you don't want to know" and leave it at that... i love the fact someone may be looking up to me etc... that always makes you feel good but when one is delusional and wants everything for nothing, im sorry but i have less than zero patience for that...

I actually take a different approach to it normally, but it depends on how that person goes about it. I like and enjoy helping people, but I will make a point to say what goes into getting to where I'm at, and that it doesn't happen overnight. Most people are receptive and are just looking for help. I was there once and remember the people I looked up to. No matter what I try to always stay humble and true to where I came from. I remember being that 130 lb kid out of high school.

For me it's dependent upon who it is, just like they see you putting in work, you see them. So if they are approaching training seriously, then by all means talk my ear off, let's share some tips and inspire one another. If you're just talking shit and your workout results are indicative of your effort level then hit the pause button and interrupt someone else. There is a young man at my gym, probably 20-21 yo if that who is there whenever I am, his dad was a competitive powerlifter, he has the aesthetics, he works his ass off. Whenever he see's me he speaks and asks questions and one day I told him "bro you keep it up you're gonna be 10x the lifter I am, built better and kids will be looking at you one day in awe" he lit up like a Christmas tree and said thank you and that I just motivated the hell outta him. To me, moments like that are what all this hard work is for. I joke around all the time saying I'm my gym's local superhero... just trash talk to entertain myself, but in reality to be able to inspire someone truly is the reward of all this hard work. That kid didn't know it, but to see him in there grinding it out inspires me daily.

Hell yeah man. For me that's what it is all about. I like to inspire people and motivate, and I like to be inspired by others. I feel like the gym is a place where everyone come together to try and better each other. You will get your occasional douchebag here and there, and that's expected...but there are a lot of legitimately good people that are just looking for help out there in any way they can get it. Especially when I see someone that's been working their ass off for a while. I'm right there to help,in any way I can.

That's the kind of response I give people at work, because I work at a restaraunt and all these fat bastards do is eat fries and all kinds of other nasty shit all day... I don't eat a fucking thing that they sell at that place I bring my own food.

Guy in the sauna a few months ago;

Him: "How do you get so lean?"
Me: "Discipline"
Him: "So I'm gonna guess no carbs right?" << Absolute most ignorant thing on earth to say and best, sure fire way to piss me off
Me: "No. Wrong. I eat carbs all the f-ing time. What part of "discipline" don't you understand?"

He finally took the hint and shut up.

Granted I was about 4 weeks out from my June show and pretty much everything was pissing me off.
