Truth with Blood/Plasma Donation??

Ok, so I tried to donate plasma today. It was my first time. I’ve donated blood before, but never plasma. Anyhow, it took over 45 minutes for all of the first time questions and everything. It turned out that I have to wait to donate for a stupid reason (I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my twin daughters. FYI: that is not uncommon for someone carrying twins when it’s high-risk.) So that of course went away once I delivered my girls, like it does in all women. But because of that they need verification from my doctor that I am no longer being treated for diabetes.

But back on topic...

Here is my question… For those of you that donate blood or plasma, how many of you actually answer all of those questions honestly?
And if you don’t always answer with the complete truth, what is it that you fib about?
I’m assuming that it isn’t the question about how many weeks you have spent in England from the years 1986-1996. lol

I donate blood religiously every 8 weeks, and obviously lie during the questions involving needle use or AAS. If I answered truthfully I would be denied. The main thing they worry about is sterility, and those that may be using dirty needles, which my technique (and other AAS users) are as sterile and thorough as any doctor out there. The AAS doesn't cause any problem to the blood whatsoever, and my blood has never been discarded

I've never had problems with donating blood, but the plasma pre-screen is crazy long. Does anyone know why it's so much more intense? It's all getting injected into another person's body, so the risk of infecting someone with anything is just as high.

I'm not sure why that question are would be more extensive. Plasma is in whole blood donation and you actually have a lot more to test for with whole blood so it does t make sense to me. Only thing I can think of, is that there tends to be a lot of "lower class citizens" that give plasma to make a few bucks, with obviously a higher likelihood of issues with their blood, so maybe that is the reason?

Here's my educated guess'
blood donations are only good for 5 days. ..I think plasma is less as well as it takes so long to extract they probably wont to eleminate the bad ones right off the bat.
