Melanotan without sun after loading

I would like to use melanotan and go to the sunbed during the loading phase. Nevertheless, after i have my desired tan I wish to keep my tan by injecting weekly and stop sun exposure.
Will I stay tanned ?? Or wil i need to go like once month to keep my tan, even though I am injecting??

My understanding is that you need uv to actually tan the skin. I've read too much mt2 with too little sun will cause orange coloration to skin pigment , but I don't have much experience with it.

I use mt2 like tanning oil. I administer it when I'm heading to the pool. It's been a couple years and I never completely lose my tan.
