You know I still am a low carb guy after all of these old school years. I got used to eating fat as my fuel source, and hardly ever get over over 100gm carbs. Fats really did get a bad rap for no apparent reason. I guess those crappy fats like the fast food shithouses made famous, gave all fats a bad name.

Nice read Drb. I think fats get a bad reputation because of the majority of society that have far too much fat intake, contributing to the high cholesterol and high obesity rate.
 
I agree and am interested in implementing this back in. How do you feel about fiber intake and how to gauge the amount

I know for me personally, I always aim for about 30-40g per day minimum on fiber. I do a lot of veggies
 
I eat a bowl of oatmeal in the morning with eggs and eggwhite.Into the oatmeal goes 1 heaping tbl of flax powder and 1 level tbl of metamucil.Maybe a scoop of whey.

The notion of high cholesterol being a problem turned out to be a myth too! Even a total fraud! High cholesterol is not a risk factor towards cardiovascular disease.
