Help w/ my spare tire!

Hello all!

I am new to the forum and I'm am super excited to have found it! I have been running this race trying to figure things out on my own with reading all kinds of crazy things online and I'd love to find some unbiased advice that can help me in my current state! I would love some help and advice!

I'll start with a quick back story so you know where I've come from. I started this transformation process 2 years ago and bounced all around with my weight in 2014 but I was in the gym and trying to learn how to eat then at at the start of 2015 I was 265lbs and about 27% body fat. Now I'm 228lbs and about 14% body fat and I've been at about this same point since July. I lift often and lift hard. I'm getting about 8 to 10 hours a week of lifting with some cardio. My goal from day 1 has been to hit single digit body fat. I want to be lean/cut. I didn't want to just hit cardio and be weak and skinny. I want a good cut look. I've found a real love of lifting in the 2 years. I'm now to the point where I find excuses to make it so I can go lift instead of finding excuses to skip the gym. My diet right now is pretty damn clean. Heavy protein and I try to eat as little carbs as possible (mainly in the AM if I have any). I'll spare you the diet details.

So that's the back story. So I've been eating clean and I feel like I more than put my time in at the gym but I still can't burn this last 10 to 15 lbs of body fat. I desperately want to win at this and hit my goal by February 1st. (Mexico Vacation) In the last 4 months I tried a month of SARMs. (http://www.southernsarms.com/sarms/sarms-triple-pack-combo.html) I saw very little change in fact the scale was going up on my more than down and I hated the taste and process so I quit on it. Now currently I'm on about week 5 of Anavar. The last 2 weeks I've worked myself up to 80mm. I am also taking 4 pills of this a day as well! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WG418NG?keywords=xtreme shred&qid=1451430130&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 The Xtreme Shred worked great for me over the summer but then they had to change their compound and it doesn't seem to be as effective. I haven't had my bodyfat tested lately and I know I've leaned down some but my scale stays between 225 and 230 and I'm freaking sick of it! I feel like I really need to get to 210 or 215 to have the look I want! I don't know what I can add to my process to burn of this remaining weight! I'm tired of throwing a crap ton of money at this on top of what I feel is a pretty good workout regiment.

So my questions!
What are your thoughts on what I'm on right now? I have about 3 weeks of product left.
If you recommend doing something different do I need to post cycle off of the Anavar before I do something else.
From what I've been reading in here I'm guessing you guys are going to tell me to hit the SARMS but I'm concerned I'm going to throw a bunch of money at it again and see the same lackluster results.
Is my goal unrealistic and am I just being impatient? I'd like to think I can get my body to drop 5-10lbs in a month.

Any kind of help or advice you can offer this 32 year old dad would be amazing! I haven't had abs since high school and I want them back! I need to shake this damn spare tire once and for all!

Can you post your diet? Some how I'm sure diet is your problem. What's a typical day of food look like for you. Let's start with that and go from there.

Fyi steroids don't just melt fat. Let's start with basics. Anavar isn't going to help you if you don't have the fundimental pieces in place. Steroids are not the best choice with bf that high at all.

My advice. Forget about steroids. Forget about the orc fat burners and work on fixing the foundation.

Agreed. Post up your diet bud. Gear is not the answer. Diet and training will make a huge difference for you. Take us through your typical day of food intake.

That's a hell of a drop already bro. Props for that. Now to continue, let's see your diet. I also agree with the other guys here. Aas does not melt fat. That comes from the kitchen. There may be some sarms we can set you up with as well. From a high quality source we have here. You can check some of the logs out to see what I mean.
Yes you will need to do a pct from the anavar to be safe. For now. Post up the diet so we can help fine tune and get you back on track.

ya i dont beleive that there is going to be huge changes within 4 weeks of your vacation. Where did you get your SARMS from because if it was the "real deal" like PE you should have seen some changes

Diet is the key brother... Get it dial in and you'll see results quickly... There's plenty of time for gear later on down the road.

I do not think you are at 14% in that picture bro. Good job in trimming down tho

Welcome to AR

Your bodyfat is much higher than you,are thinking right now. However, congratulations on your journey so far. A couple things stick out to me....

Your diet obviously needs a lot of work. Right now that is your biggest obstacle, and I highly recommend you get that under control. Please check out my nutrition and dieting sticky for a good plan to get a dieting strategy implemented to get you on the right track. Check it out here...

Another thing is the sarms you used are literally the worst possible source of sarms you can use. Their products are cheap because they are bunk! You literally can't sell sarms for that price and it be profitable. That explains why you achieved nothing on them

After getting your diet in line you should sincerely look into purchasing a good sarms stack from www.pureessenceresearch.com

That is the best source of sarms out there, bar none. You can check out our log section for plenty of feedback on them

If you want I can't help you setup a good sarms stack to compliment your goals brother

Thanks everyone so far! I will respond more here soon but I wanted to get some of my diet up. My "my fitness pal" gave me my macros of 242g of carbohydrates 600 of fat and 201g of protein. I try to eat 5 to 6 times a day and I try to eat more grams of protein then carbs. Calorie goal is 2200 but i seem to get closer to 2400. Yesterday I didn't hit that but I figured this would give you the best detail. The reason I didn't give details before was i assumed I was on track there because I'm more disciplined now that I was when I lost my 40 lbs by July.

I kind of assumed the SARMS I was in were crap and that was part of why I dropped them too. So I'm glad to hear you think they are crap.

Ok what other details can I offer up about my diet?

Workouts are normally 4 days a week for an hour and half to 2 hours at night after I put the kids to bed so 830ish. 5 to 10 min of warm up cardio and then my 4 weekly workouts are chest, shoulders, legs and then arms and back to give u a rough idea. I cycle my rep range over 4 weeks. 15, 12, 8, then 3 to 5. My heart rate monitor says I burn an average of 800 to 900 calories a workout.

Alright I'm a sponge so lay it on me! THANKS EVERYONE!

Thank you for the input Rick! I read thru your diet thread. Thank you for sharing the link! I've really been doing well keeping my diet to what I listed above. I do have off days but I don't see how I could be over 3500 calories outside of a stupid night of drinking or something! And then throw my workout in on top of that. My goal for 2016 is to track everyday in the my fitness pal app. I track here and there and look up things I'm not sure on.

From your math I'm 228lbs and I'd say I have an average metabolism but I guess I don't really know. So 228x15 = 3420. My goal has been 2200 to 2400 a day just on intake. One thing I don't track is my pre and post workout supplements. (Mainly max muscle products.)

So all that being said something is clearly off somewhere so I'm here to listen to your advice because I'm not where I want to be!

Thanks again!

Good job of doing the math... I wasted 6 months thinking I could just eat right and not keep track. It's simple math and hard work... You can do it brother! You're already taking the steps necessary...

I would venture to say your metabolism may be a little slower than you think, and for cutting you don't want to use that number. If you go by what I said in that thread that is for MIANTENANCE calories only, so to put yourself in a defecit for fat loss you will need to be 500-1000 per day lower than that, which would put you roughly 2500-3000 max

I would err on the side of lower calorie calculations on RR's diet thread for two reasons. First you haven't been losing weight, so obviously your calorie intake isn't below calorie expenditure. Second your daily calorie requirements are more based on LBM than total weight, so the higher the bf% the more off those calculations can become. You've made some amazing progress so far though, very respectable.

I agree with using your LBM rather than total weight...

Awesome! So what caloric intake would you say is my baseline? 3000 and not the 3420? I know you can't say for sure but your educated guess would be better than mine. My 2200 calorie diet is what helped me lose my 40lbs but now I'm still doing the same thing and have plateaued so that's why I'm asking for help. Because I don't know what to do to lose the next 20lbs.

So shoot for 2000 calories instead of the 2300?

It's very common to plateau after losing such vast amount of weight after following the same calorie amounts. As you get leaner you will need to cut the calories even further or increase your cardio as your metabolism has adjusted. You can sometimes reverse diet with some success but I don't believe you're caloric intake is low enough to justify doing that as it'll probably do little to nothing.
Good to know thank you! How much more cardio would you recommend. What kind of calories should I shoot for now?

Maintenance is around 3420 for you, which means what you would eat to stay exactly the same.

If you want to cut you need to be at least 500 under that, but I would go to around 750 or so probably. That would put you around 2700 or slightly under to start

Also keep up on cardio, etc to accentuate the fat burning process
