First cycle diet advice

ibleedoranbla, this was a great question to ask. I have been wondering the same exact thing. My first cycle starts in about a month and I'm going to run basically the same AAS as you are. I've been planning to use a 400 calorie surplus for the first couple months so that I don't "waste my first cycle". LOL So this sounds like a common mindset for us beginners. Like you, I still want to lose BF. I'm currently at 12% and I'm terrified of gaining more fat.

So after reading all of the great feedback here, I think I'm going to eat at maintenance during my cycle instead of a surplus. I might even adopt part of the "RickRock" plan and eat at a deficit on cardio/rest days.

Thanks for starting this discussion. It's super helpful!

I tell you what man, it may not be for everyone but I recomp extremely well by eating at defecit son rest days and doing cardio, while eating at a slight surplus on workout days. I do that all the time year round on cycle and off, and it works great for my body

I'm definitely going to give that a go! I've tried the "bulk & cut" method in the past and I just pack on fat like there's no tomorrow when in a constant surplus for weeks. So then I have to cut for months to take the fat off. And in the end, I don't really think I'm adding much size. I've certainly seen an increase in strength and definition over the past few years though. But adding size without getting fat in the process is my biggest challenge. I'm stoked to hear about what has worked for you guys. I'm really looking forward to seeing how my body responds to these diet methods.

I'm glad the post can also serve to help you out as well. With this being my first cycle it's easy for me to get too wrapped up in trying to be perfect and not "waste" the cycle rather than just doing what I know how to do, which is eat according to the way my body is telling me to and pick weights up and sit them back down.

Oh absolutely hell yeah dude. That is as old school as it comes. I used to that myself and used to wonder how in the hell does this work.
