I love him as a person but not as a head coach... he's a fucking great guy in general but he was handed a national title team from chip kelley and still managed to lose to arizona that season and he forgot how to call plays against ohio state... i was at the game... they drove the ball right down their fucking throats the first drive and then decided to try to run the entire game which they had not done once all fucking season... it was the most painful shit i had to watch live like that... he's just not a good head coach.. he tried to emulate chip kelley's offense but he just could not provide anywhere near the same results... oregon absolutely will attract a bad ass coach for sure and they will be back to being on top of the division soon... there is too much money with nike etc. and all the money they have in facilities, endorsements etc... they will be right back there very soon brother... they will get this moving forward quickly...
He was actually a good influence on that shit program that was festering in privilege by association rather than thriving in talent. Mack Brown destroyed the program 4 years prior and yet was sent out with a hero's welcome. I was at the bowl game where we (UO) decimated the Lonhorns. Major Applewhite had his share of the blame as well and was an integral part of the problem as well. Coaching at a 2nd rate program below the likes of TCU, Baylor and now even Houston was a challenge Coach Strong was in the midst of fixing. However when boosters who never played a down of football make the call you are destined for failure. I hope he takes the U of H job by some oddity and schedules a game against Texas and beats their ass. Good guy, bad program, worse shot callers. When Malcolm Brown (#1 RB recruit class of 2010 committed there I told him it was a mistake and the Applewhite would fuck him over), at least he's with the Rams now.
As soon as Helfrich took over and started recruiting differently I knew it was destined to collapse. We had this conversation a long time ago and I was just biding my time and waiting for the inevitable to happen. When Colorado is on top of the Pac 12 you know somebody dropped LSD into the water treatment plant... I just wonder who our next guy will be and how long it'll take to get our recruiting classes back into the top 10.

Yeah where the hell did Colorado come from? But I believe they will be able to get a high profile coach cuz of the money they have to throw around. Curious to hear what names are being talked about
