Can't catch a break

Just when my knees started feeling better.I was doing my back this morning & tweaked it doing bent over barbell rows. Now my hips are all crooked.I finished my workout, then I popped a vicodin & a motrin.Took a steaming hot, long shower, but it didn't do much at all.I had to call out of work.I'm going to the chiropractor today to see if he can straighten me out so I can work tomorrow.
Sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it,training & getting one injury after another. As soon as one heals,I aggravate another.I take every single precaution I can.I warm up & stretch everyday.I'm so careful to keep perfect form with every movement.I'm so fuckin disgusted with myself right now.I'm going to hang upside down for awhile on the inversion table.

Sorry to hear that. My workout partner has a lot of injuries with you. He'll start to get into running and then hurt his foot....legs and there go the knees. The only suggestion I can give is to try and work around your injuries with good exercise choices for your body.

Thanks.I'm going to nix the barbell bent over rows from my back routine.I always seem to use my lower back with them when I'm going a little heavier. The funny thing is I can do dead lifts with no issues,as long as I keep them relatively light. That's probably because I'm so focused on the form, cause I know that's a injury prone area for me.
I'm just going to do dumbell rows, seated cable rows & pull/chin-ups for my back for awhile.

Getting old sucks man......everyday I get reminded, I think....ok tomorrow I'll feel like a million bucks....that day doesn't come anymore....lol
I have been doing bent over rows in the Smith machine for extra support

When you heal up try them on the smith machine with a inclined bench under your chest/abs to support your spine to remove any undue stress off your back and isolate it to where it's intended to work.

I know the feeling, I haven't been able to do any type of lower back exercise, nor do I even attempt it anymore. Some things I just let go, would rather be able to kill everything else, I know if I do attempt it I'm risking going down for a week or so, not worth the risk anymore.
I'll do unweighted exercises for that area and that's about it, and even still it will go out on occasion doing something friggin stupid like putting a sock on or something.

Lol, been there done that. Nothing like having all these killer PR's and getting sidelined by something like putting on a sneaker or a sock.

When I was in my late 20's I threw my back out brushing my teeth....I had to crawl to the phone(corded wall phone) and call for help I was off work for 5 days.....last time I used the toilet brush.....

Lol that's a new one.I can understand putting in a sock but brushing your teeth? How the hell could that happen? You must be a really aggressive brusher!lol

Blow it off bro....if u hung out with me for a day u wouldn't think I even lift, I hobble around the house ..getting up off the couch is a chore, can't hardly get out of bed sometimes lol I look more like a geriatric cripple that should be cruising Wal-Mart in a hover round..bad neck/back/knees/ joints..hell I only go to the Dr if something ain't hurting..that's when I get scared! If I didn't lift I'd probably be in worse shape so at least I'm a sexy cripple

That's the main reason why i workout.I'd be in a hell of a lot worse shape if I didn't.My back used to go out & stay out for months years ago when I wasn't lifting.I was severely overweight back then too.
Now it goes out 3 or 4 times a year from the stupidest shit & it'll last from anywhere from a week to a month. This time wasn't so bad.It was only a tweak.I felt it right away.If I would've worked today,it would've gotten worse.I'm going to take it easy & heat it,then try & get it straightened out this afternoon.

For back Ice and heat. Ice for inflammation, heat as a vasodialator(sp?).

Now (this is going to sound really weird) I found for me, a combo of these Canadian 222's (with codeine) and gloucosamine, helps break the pain/spasm reflex.

Vicodin doesnt do shit for me, and even Oxy isnt a whole lot of help.

A really good deep tissue massage (and I mean so deep, they feel your prostate) will also help, once you get the initial inflammation down. FAR IR heat pad also helps. In addition, I have a HomeMedics Shiatsu chair, with IR heat. Its my go to if I cant go to see my LMP.

Lastly, there are compounded topicals that help alot. Ketaprofen is more powerful than ibuprofen. Compounded with Piroxicam is a nice mix. God Awful expensive and insurance wont cover it.

Lastly, WorkSport back support. Help keep things supported while healing.

I've had back issues 30 yers, they wanted to hit me with surgery in 08. Fuck them, I'm lifting heavier now than ever.

Active hydration, inversion, and my every week Roberto (my LMP) help immensely
