Now (this is going to sound really weird)...
A really good deep tissue massage (and I mean so deep, they feel your prostate) will also help, once you get the initial inflammation down...
That was a true classic right there...

Just when my knees started feeling better.I was doing my back this morning & tweaked it doing bent over barbell rows. Now my hips are all crooked.I finished my workout, then I popped a vicodin & a motrin.Took a steaming hot, long shower, but it didn't do much at all.I had to call out of work.I'm going to the chiropractor today to see if he can straighten me out so I can work tomorrow.
Sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it,training & getting one injury after another. As soon as one heals,I aggravate another.I take every single precaution I can.I warm up & stretch everyday.I'm so careful to keep perfect form with every movement.I'm so fuckin disgusted with myself right now.I'm going to hang upside down for awhile on the inversion table.
For back Ice and heat. Ice for inflammation, heat as a vasodialator(sp?).
Now (this is going to sound really weird) I found for me, a combo of these Canadian 222's (with codeine) and gloucosamine, helps break the pain/spasm reflex.
Vicodin doesnt do shit for me, and even Oxy isnt a whole lot of help.
A really good deep tissue massage (and I mean so deep, they feel your prostate) will also help, once you get the initial inflammation down. FAR IR heat pad also helps. In addition, I have a HomeMedics Shiatsu chair, with IR heat. Its my go to if I cant go to see my LMP.
Lastly, there are compounded topicals that help alot. Ketaprofen is more powerful than ibuprofen. Compounded with Piroxicam is a nice mix. God Awful expensive and insurance wont cover it.
Lastly, WorkSport back support. Help keep things supported while healing.
I've had back issues 30 yers, they wanted to hit me with surgery in 08. Fuck them, I'm lifting heavier now than ever.
Active hydration, inversion, and my every week Roberto (my LMP) help immensely
This is your body telling you to stop it! Back the weights down and be smarter.
PHURIOUS
Lots of good info here. Thanks JP
I know you're probably right, but I hate taking time off when I'm on PED's.Seems like I'm wasting them.I'm just going to maintenance lift the rest of this week,no pushing for more weight. Then take the weekend off.
I didnt say stop. I said stop with the heavy weight. Back it down.

Avoid chiropractors like the plague. They will make your back hyper mobile. You don't want that, took me a few years to recover from that mistake.
Follow my advice, ice and heat, alternate. Break the pain spasm reflex with pain meds. Deep tissue Massage to loosen the muscles.
Would you mind if I take an insurance policy out on you.....![]()
Yup got it
