Doc checked my prostate, said it was slightly enlarged...
I've never gone over 250mg test a week, currently on 150 a week.

Is being slightly enlarged normal on Trt?

Yes, it can be. Some guys are more prone to prostate enlargement than others, and TRT can be a contributing factor. It's definitely something to watch closely

I definitely will be, I was a little alarmed being that I'm only 29, but been on Trt for a year, gonna try and get a psa test done here soon

Yes, definitely get a PSA done so you have something to go by for the future for any changes

Primary is you have a problem with your testicles...they are physically unable to produce testosterone ....nothing you can do to fix that
Secondary is you have problem with your endocrine system such as your pituitary gland
Many of these problems can be fixed

Did he tell you WHY your testosterone was low
How many times did he check your bloods before determining you needed TRT
Natural Testosterone levels can swing widely do to a number of different things...including stress
The reason I ask is someone your age shouldn't need trt
Most men your age can recover normal test level with a bit of work... Unfortunately many
Dr's test once ... See see low levels and put patients on trt without ever finding out the cause
Big mistake

That's about what happened, one visit had a battery of tests, and next visit got my meds

That's insane...one test is meaningless
The Endrocine Society protocal calls for a MINIMUM 2 tests over a period of not less than 3 months

my advise is find a competent endocrinologist...have consultation
if there is any way to recover your natural test production..it's the best option...I'd jump thru hoops and leave no stone unturned

This is really interesting.I never found out the cause of mine either.I'm going to ask my doc next time I see him.I have a funny feeling he doesn't know though.

Buen, you ever have prostate issues from Trt, or aas use?

I developed prostate cancer 5 years after starting TRT...whether or not it was related to the TRT is questionable
but certainly might have contributed to it....
to be clear there are no studies that conclusively link prostate cancer to TRT
but then again they just don't know

TRT has become so popular in the last few years..doctors prescribe it after 1 low test score..hell...stress can lower a score by 200ng/dL
doesn't even mean you really are low test
Even if you are producing low amounts of test.....so much can be done if you have secondary hypogonadalism

TRT opens up a whole can of worms...everything might be great for a few years..but trust me..it's no picnic

NEVER GIVE UP YOUR NATURAL TEST WITHOUT A FIGHT

I'll look into it.
Please forgive me if I'm prying too much but im genuinely interested. After being diagnosed, how was it handled? Did you get surgery? Or do you still deal with it. I Saw some posts about you starting primo ect.. And was wondering if your prostate is still an issue for you

Being on these forums I'm gonna assume you are ok with cycling, is that a preferable route with my age if levels are restored?

Yes...I had prostate surgery....and all the complications that come with that....not fun in the least
Not to mention having to be off TRT and suffer from no testosterone for over a year
I've been cancer free for 9 years....so TRT and cycling aren't a problem as long as I continue monitoring my PSA

I was diagnosed with it when I was 40 after ONE test. That was seven years ago.I guess I'm pretty much screwed on getting my natural levels up after all this time huh?A few years back there was an issue with my insurance & I had to go off TRT for a few months to get a natural low reading. It was 58.Anything below 200(which is extremely low IMO) you get prescribed Test. Now I'm always in the 600-750 range on it.

I agree with buen.To the OP,29 is extremely young to be on TRT.Fight it every way you can!

Don't get me wrong....I'm a strong advocate for TRT
But only after proper diagnosis and trying everything possible to maintain health natural test production
I cringe when I hear about guys going on TRT that have 400ng/dL natural test
The Endrocrine Society guidelines for serum testosterone levels of those on TRT is 400-700ng/dL
My sweet spot for nearly 10 years has been 900-1000ng/dL... But as I've said in the past
I'd give my left nut to have 400 natural test

Would 12-16 week cycles once or twice a year screw up my hpta to bad if I'm recovered?
