X-ray is going to show bones. The MRI is going to show muscle, ligaments, and a whole lot of other stuff. I know the feeling bro. Mine only bothered me when I wanted to train shoulders or raise my arm above my head, but there is probably some damage there that is worth having somebody look at.
I consider myself a pro when it comes to shoulder injury. Take my advice brother, go see your primary care and go to ortho. There is something about the shoulder that no matter how bad the injury is, we always feel like a little rest and lighter workout will make everything better. I waited...
