Hello everyone on the forum! I’m preparing to submit my immigration documents and have received a list of additional papers from the visa officer, including a police clearance certificate from Vanuatu, since I lived and worked there for some time. I’m encountering this term for the first time and don’t quite understand what the certificate is, who issues it, or what its legal force is. Could you please tell me what this certificate is and for which official procedures abroad it is usually needed?
Under what other names might this document appear in the requirements of different consulates or employers? Are there specific English-language designations that I should pay attention to so as not to confuse it with other documents?
Hello! As an immigration consultant with many years of experience supporting cases abroad, I’m happy to explain this document's purpose. It is an official police document that states whether you have any criminal convictions in Vanuatu. It is also called a Vanuatu police check, criminal record check, or certificate of good conduct. This document is requested for immigration, permanent residency, citizenship, and visa applications, as well as for employment. Typically, the country you’re moving to will check your good character based on your time spent in other countries in recent years. To submit quickly, it’s convenient to order here to receive a certificate without having to visit the police station in Port Vila in person. The most important thing is to ensure that the personal data and passport numbers on the issued certificate are correct. Which country are you applying to for immigration or a work visa? Has the visa officer set a deadline for submitting this certificate?
