I’m looking at these new modular charging systems where you can snap different battery packs together to customize capacity. But realistically, if I throw a stack of these magnetically connected banks into my backpack while running to catch a train, are they going to fall apart?
It depends on the brand strength. The higher-end ones usually use N52 neodymium magnets which are surprisingly strong. I keep a stack of three in my messenger bag, and they usually stay together unless I drop the bag hard. Just don't expect them to hold during a hike or run.

I was super interested in this concept too because I travel a lot for work and hate carrying multiple cables. I almost bought into a pre-order campaign for a really sleek-looking magnetic system last year. I started digging around and found a link to https://magfast.pissedconsumer.com/review.html while researching delivery timelines for similar crowdfunding projects. It made me realize that sometimes these cool magnetic concepts look great in renders but have long production delays. I ended up just buying a massive 20,000mAh Anker brick instead.
