Insulin (using a syringe to draw from cartridge)

I typically buy Lantis pre filled pends from steroidify, this time I bought Novo Nordisk "mixtard" insulin from steroidify. I didn't look close enough to realize they were cartages, meaning you must insert to a reusable pen. I was wondering if I can just use a normal insulin syringe and draw straight from the cartridge because I can't find a place to buy the proper pen for a reasonable price.

You generally need the special tips, however you can usually order these from Amazon fairly cheaply.
