In the past month or so ive started to lose my sense of invincibility, what with the ongoing health concerns and just feeling run down. Well today I turn 30... thirty thursday im calling it. I dont feel like im 30. I dont feel like thats old at all, but I feel like im more at a maturity level of 18 or 19 (which is scary being that my girlfriend and I are expecting a baby girl shortly).

Her and I just recently had a skype session with a casting director for a tv show on TLC about first time parents in the first year after the babys birth and thats a scary concept. First thing my girl said was... "what would you do about your juice?" Haha.

Any advice on how to survive your 30s? Day 1 is rough bros

30.....lol I got underwear that old.....And I'm wearing them!!!
U a baby enjoy it while you can........your brain does not age. I still feel 18 mentally....physically....out for review...LOL

It's all what you do with life, there is no owners manual...you control your happiness/sadness....good times and bad.

Life is a tragedy when viewed close.....but a comedy in the end........

Just hide the gear use. Don't let a tv crew get where you don't want them. I hate reality tv and they'll try to pry as much as possible. Happy birthday though bro. Kids are great but it's hard as hell. Good luck to y'all

Bro I'm 41...best shape of my life...I don't know if I would want to be 30 again

your all good bro..you can get better with age... you learn more, you know how to take care of yourself better etc... just remember that you are not invincible and each year it gets a little harder to recover etc... learn how to preserve your body and allow it to rest and grow... one thing i have learned is that preservation is the key... training 6 and 7 days a week is too much... 5 is perfect... high impact cardio training too often will ruin longevity... that's why i stopped running every single day and added in a lot more elliptical and stair climbing... learn your body, the responses, etc... and treat it right... you will last A LOT longer and become better with age if you do this

Thirty? Jeez,i"m twice that and still chasing it.I work 10 hrs a day in a factory, get up at three to be at the gym by four, start work at 6:00 amThirty?? Not that rough buddy, really,it isn't

Dude, trust me....30 is NOTHING! Maybe I can give you some help here. Once I hit 30 I was married about a month later. Prior to that I considered myself a pretty active person in relatively good shape. I was in and out of the gym...nothing real dedicated like today, but I looked good.

Well once I hit 30 and got married I quit going to the gym, had my daughter a few years later and had developed a dad bod, completely out of shape. I woke up one day at 35 in 2009 and realized it was time for a change. I dedicated myself to getting into shape and bodybuilding.

Fast forward almost 7 years and here I am today coming up on 42 years old and in the best shape of my life, and still getting better!

Age doesn't mean shit, and life is whatever you make it bro. It's your story. It's up to you how you fill the pages

thats awesome brother... i love it... you already know, the best gains are in your 30's and 40's... your body is then fully developed and grown internally and you can make so much more progress... its literally the best years for growth and maturation...

I am the same age and I have not slowed down a bit. The only reason drb posts is for you to see a living example of will, determination, and sticking to it. He made GAINS within the last 14 weeks. Do you see how silly you sound to him?

Did I say anywhere I was worried I wouldnt make gains? No. Theres no doubt ill continue making gains. I was merely expressing fear at an extremely stressful time in my life and asking for support. Thanks to those who showed that.

Im over it already. I was just stressing... with the health shit, having a baby, and the fact that all my workout partners are 22-24 years old. Silly as it may sound to some, im pretty confident every person has been faced with a milestone that gave them some doubt.

Thanks for all the feedback

When you feel that way then go to gym. That is the begining of getting better. And usually the first thing that we stop under these situations is the gym.
Glad it was just temporary, because I would hate to see you like this for the long haul.
I just recently sat in a hospital with a finger cut off and a severe concussion. As soon as possible my dad had me at the gym.It works. I would go to the gym, hand wrapped tightly, and exhaust myself and get some of the best restorative sleep ever. I was supposed to be concussive until the end of April but beat it by a month.A few brain farts still exist but never underestimate the iron.

I can understand where you are coming from brother. A good step in the right direction is to surround yourself with others in the same boat as you. Other guys around the same age, and others that may be engaged or married and have children of their own or on the way. Being around young guys in their early 20s that live it up and party is not going to help you out at all. I would just try to seperate yourself from it best you can. It will make you much better to everyone around you and most importantly it will make it much better on yourself
