Anybody have sleep apnea?

So this has been mentioned to me for a few years but I've been putting it off because I didn't think it was a big deal. I still have to go get a sleep study done but my doctor said my septum is deviated and resembles in S instead of straight so my breathing sucks. Also, my throat canal is too narrow and my tonsils will have to be removed along with my ulvula (that shit that hangs) because its abnormally long. Sometimes when I wake up it feels like I am swallowing it.

Anyway, she said I'm gonna need surgery and it'll take 2-3 weeks of recovery. She also said I'll need to be on a liquid diet and will probably lose weight. That's the part that I dread because I got all kinds of gains on my first cycle. I'm currently in my first week of pct. on the bright side I guess when all is said and done I can go on another cycle so the timing is about right...

I was also wondering if anybody knows about oxygen deprivation and fat loss. It seems like there are some articles that relate and it would explain why I can not seem to lose the fat around my face no matter my diet. (yes I am blaming sleep apnea on not losing fat LOL)

Anybody else deal w this? How did you deal?

Surgery before a cpap machine??? Glad she ain't my doc bro. I have sleep apnea... I snore like a den of bears, but I have a machine somewhere in the house that my wife moved, or gave to one of her fat ass sisters... not sure where it is. I choke about 19 times every 45 minutes. That's how long my sleep study lasted before they said they couldn't stand to listen to me growling any longer.

I did one of those sleep studies. 3 nights there I never slept. They finally sent a machine home with me. In 3 nights, the longest I was in REM sleep was 2m, one time.

Sleep deprivation is a bitch, and very tough to come back from, so get something done.

Bro, Don't let them MOFOs cut you up. I was told I had a deviated septum, Polyps in my sinus, some other shit that I can't recall back in 2000. I couldn't breathe at night when I lay down to sleep and snored all night. I let them do the surgery(a very hard and painful recovery) and it only helped for about 6 months before the Problem came back worse than before due to scar tissue. Went back and they told me they needed to remove the scar tissue. So I had a second surgery done only to be have it come back again. They kept telling me that there is more tissue to be removed, are you freaking kidding me? You can't keep cutting somebody up and remove body parts and expect a good outcome. Years have gone by and I still snore, can't breathe at night, and have developed all kinds of sinus allergies because I let them fuck me up like that.

These fucking doctors make their money (bonuses, etc.. ) by doing unnecessary and expensive surgeries and charging the insurance companies so they can live in mansions and drive Bentley and Maserati and take 8-10 weeks of paid vacations a year. I should have sued them when I had the chance, but I was too naive and uninformed at the time.
Just because it is not 100% normal does not mean you should cut it off and throw it in a bucket. If I were you, I would run away from this doctor and don't even look behind you. Deal with your problem by other means, get a Cpap machine, holistic remedies, etc... Just my 2 cents for what its worth. I wish you well, hope you can find relief somehow.

Agreed, I had a homeboy get the same procedure done and after his 'recovery' he had all kinds of problems like allergies and random nose bleeds for no reason. They cut him again and made it worse, ended up with nothing between his used to be two nostrils that's now one wide nostril about a half inch past his two nostrils. Looks like a normal nose, but hell he'd have been better off just snorting a ton of blow... same end result.

I was diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnea. I started having problems sleeping 8 years before I finally had a dr. send me for the sleep test. Then did the 2nd sleep study to get the cpap dialed in. I went home with the cpap and tried it for about a month, it was horrible, I could not breath with that thing on and actually was getting worse sleep because of it. I started doing some research for alternative methods and found a dentist in my area that specialized in apnea mouth guards... Went and saw him and it has been the best decision ive made. It is an out of pocket expense, insurance wont cover it, and its like $2,500 bux, but it covers all follow up appointment adjustments to the mouthguard etc... I also have the extra long "vulva"lol. But my dr. said no way would he recommend removing it or having the throat surgery. its supposed to be EXTREMELY painful and like someone else mentioned you will continue to have scar tissue...

I was having trouble building and keeping muscle, was holding onto fat and all my hormones were completely fucked up from it. My diet and training were on point but I was growing a nice set of sausage tits. My body was just under an unordinary amount of stress from not sleeping. I was going from dr. to dr. tryna figure it out...Thyroid, cortisol, trt, all helped a little, but not the way it should have. Im still struggling a bit to get and stay lean and develop proper muscle definition, but getting actual sleep has helped tremendously.

I'm glad I didn't make any hasty decisions. It sounds like the surger(ies) would not be the best move. I think I'll see what the sleep study says and use the CPAP machine and if that doesn't work then will have to try the dental guard and if THAT doesn't work then MAYBE the surgery. I am already hesitant to go under the knife for anything as it is. I wonder if it would help if I just got my tonsils removed? A lot of people get their tonsils out for one reason or another and dont seem to have complications??
